Summer Camp Counselor

The Elaine Clark Center is seeking dependable and motivated individuals to work in our summer camp programs providing supportive care to children and young adult with developmental disabilities. This position is ideal for individuals interested in pursuing a career in special education, working with neuro-diverse populations, speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, play-based therapy, nursing, or behavioral psychology, trauma-informed psychology or social work.

Job Duties Include:

  • Daily supervision of classroom of neuro-diverse children and adults
  • Implementation of classroom instruction and activities on a daily basis
  • Support and maintain a healthy classroom environment by providing recreational, emotional, health and therapeutic support for the classroom population
  • Assist students in daily self-care, as needed

Quality Candidates will:

  • Have a desire to work with neurodiverse populations in a variety of age ranges (child to young adult)
  • Actively participate with the students across all campus environments
  • Be inquisitive about how to best help individuals and will be proactive in asking questions and solving problems
  • Communicate in a professional manner with diverse personalities
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Be able to submit a positive criminal records check
