Role Description:

The Valene L. Smith Museum of Anthropology in the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences is collecting application materials for a Gallery Sitter.

 

Description of Duties: 6 Hours a week (Non-Work Study) & 9 Hours a week (Federal Work Study)

 

• Greet the public

• Knowledge of current exhibitions

• Hang posters and other campus errands

• Special Events as needed

• Light Maintenance

 

Positions Available: 1 Non-Work Study & 1 Work Study

 

Minimum Qualifications: must be interested in museums and excited to engage with the public. Must have some availability during the Museum's hours of operation: 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM, Tuesday - Friday, and the first Saturday of the month.

 

Exceptions to the minimum eligibility qualifications may be granted at the sole discretion of the University.

Additional Information:

 

All work must be performed within the State of California.

 

Compliance training completion (approx. 4 hours of work time) is required of this position within the first 30 days of work.

 

The person holding this position is not considered a ‘mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.

 

A background check (including a criminal records check) is not required for this position.
