R&D Polymer Chemistry Intern
Mimetic is a startup developing 3D printing solutions for biomedical research. We are looking for a motivated and self-driven polymer chemist or materials science engineer intern to support the development of novel 3D printable polymeric and elastomeric materials.
This is an in-person position with a required time commitment of at least 20 hours per week. Starts February 2026 and ends May 2026.
Responsibilities:
- Work independently to synthesize and formulate polymers
- Analyze polymers qualitatively and quantitatively for physical and chemical properties
- Present experimental results and communicate in a team environment
- Review literature, develop hypotheses, and design experiments
Qualifications:
- Strong fundamental understanding of polymer chemistry, photopolymerization, and relevant analytical chemistry techniques
- Demonstrated proficiency in chemical/biological wet lab environments following safe laboratory practices
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Familiarity with 3D printing
