The Information Technology (I.T.) Support Intern will play a pivotal role in providing technical assistance and support to JMEUC staff for network, hardware, and software issues. Working under the supervision of the I.T. team, the intern will gain hands-on experience in troubleshooting and maintaining computer systems while contributing to the smooth operation of the organization's technology infrastructure.

Basic Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's program in Information Technology or Computer Science from an accredited university.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Professional demeanor, including business casual attire and grooming.
  • Commitment to a 12-week internship duration.
  • Available to work a minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Ability to lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Installation and maintenance of computer systems, including software and hardware, on desktops and laptops.
  • Resolution of WAN and LAN access issues, both wired and wireless.
  • Provision of LAN network printer support.
  • Help desk support for staff.
  • Troubleshooting hardware, software, network devices, and surveillance cameras.
  • Inventory management of computers, laptops, tablets, monitors, printers, network switches, and UPS systems.
  • Demonstration of professionalism, effective communication, eagerness to learn, positive attitude, and collaboration with I.T. staff and end-users.
  • Support for recent versions of Microsoft Office Applications and Windows 10/11.
  • Creation of network cabling and termination of CAT6 patch cables.

 

This internship offers students the chance to immerse themselves in the I.T. field, applying classroom learning to real-world scenarios. Interns
are encouraged to bring fresh ideas and perspectives to JMEUC while gaining invaluable experience in their respective fields.

This is a paid internship.

This internship will last approximately up to 12 weeks
