Sewing Assistant
For my little clothing design studio, right down town in the heart of the city, I am looking for a long-term sewing assistant.
Minimum requirements: basic sewing experience and knowledge. You know how to use a machine, and also some hand sewing. You know how to hem garments and how to put together a basic piece of clothing. You are friendly, outgoing and interested in fashion, sewing and tailoring!
Expectations: I will expect that you have a few years of experiences in machine and hand-sewing, know how to hem pants, sew-in lining and things of that order. You will be mainly finishing up garments, or duplicated garments, that already have been made before.
Hours: I will expect you to work between 2- 4 hours a week, and be available for occasional help, especially on 1st Fridays for the local gallery walk (5-8pm) in the evenings, as well as other occasional projects, like fashion shoots, fashion shows or other events.
Pay: I start off with 13$ per hour, with the possibility of a raise in time and with good work.
I am hoping to find someone that can stay with me for longer, is interested and willing to learn, and is also open to occasionally help with other tasks the studio requires, like receiving customers, attending meetings, running errands!
