About the Position:

Under the general direction of the Supervising Transportation Engineer, the Senior Transportation Engineer provides expertise in highway engineering and traffic operations as a member of the California Highway Patrol's (CHP) Multidisciplinary Accident Investigation Team (MAIT), which investigates severe traffic collisions and/or incidents, where involved parties may have suffered fatal or serious injuries. The incumbent will receive detailed guidance from the MAIT Sergeant responsible for the team concerning MAIT-related duties. This position requires 24/7 availability. Key responsibilities include collaborating with the CHP team, preparing and presenting reports, coordinating with attorneys, participating in depositions, and providing court testimony.
