Elementary Reading & Math Tutors (Grades 3–5)

School: Mission Bend Elementary – Fort Bend ISD
Location: 16200 Beechnut, Houston, TX 77083

Schedule:
Three days per week
Time: 3:15–5:15 PM

Compensation:
$20–$27 per hour (based on experience)

Positions Available:

2 Reading Tutors (Grades 3–5)

2 Math Tutors (Grades 3–5)
Total positions: 4

Position Overview

Mission Bend Elementary is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic tutors to provide small-group academic support in reading and math for students in grades 3–5. Tutors will work closely with students to reinforce grade-level skills, build confidence, and support academic growth in a structured after-school setting.

Responsibilities

Provide small-group instruction in reading or math aligned with grade-level standards

Support skill development through targeted practice and guided instruction

Assist students with comprehension, fluency, problem-solving, and foundational math skills

Monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed

Create a positive, supportive, and engaging learning environment

Collaborate with school staff as needed to support student success

Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of experience working with elementary-aged students in a classroom, tutoring, or academic support setting

Experience with reading intervention and/or math instruction for grades 3–5 preferred

Strong communication and classroom management skills

Ability to work effectively with small groups

Dependable, professional, and student-focused

Preferred Skills

Familiarity with elementary curriculum and instructional strategies

Patience, enthusiasm, and a passion for working with children

Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
