Lacrosse Coach
Located in the beautiful Adirondacks, Point O’Pines Camp for Girls is looking for a Lacrosse Coach to join our team and help campers build skills, confidence, and a passion for lacrosse in a fun camp environment.
The Lacrosse Coach is a Specialty Counselor within the Team Sports program who leads fun, safe, and age-appropriate lacrosse instruction for campers of all skill levels. This role is ideal for an enthusiastic lacrosse player or coach who enjoys teaching, mentoring, and being part of a vibrant summer camp community. Lacrosse Coaches may serve as in-bunk or out-of-bunk staff depending on camp needs.
Key Responsibilities
Lacrosse & Specialty Area
- Plan and lead daily lacrosse activities, drills, and scrimmages.
- Teach fundamental and advanced lacrosse skills while promoting teamwork and sportsmanship.
- Adapt instruction for varying ages and ability levels.
- Ensure camper safety and proper use of equipment.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and encouraging environment.
- Assist with setup, upkeep, and breakdown of the lacrosse area.
General Specialty Counselor Duties
- Supervise campers and ensure active, safe participation.
- Participate in camp-wide day and evening activities.
- Support camp operations and special events as assigned.
Qualifications
- Experience playing and/or coaching lacrosse.
- Experience working with children preferred.
- Energetic, patient, and enthusiastic.
- Strong leadership and teamwork skills.
