LHSI Intern: Clinical Research Tech
Program Summary:
This internship is offered as a part of the Life-Health Sciences Internship Program (LHSI). This program connects 125 IU Indianapolis undergraduates per year with internships on campus with faculty and staff in a variety of health and science related campus areas/programs. All LHSI internships start in August 2026 and end in May 2027 and are paid $14/hour for up to 10 hours per week. Work-study is accepted but not required.

Overview of the internship site: Clinical Research, where we bridge the gap between scientific discovery and patient care. This work will be in Clinical Research, where we bridge the gap between scientific discovery and patient care. Our role is to ensure that new treatments and therapies are safe, effective, and ethically tested before they reach the public. It’s a dynamic field that combines rigorous science with a deep commitment to improving lives. Every study we support contributes to advancing medicine and offering hope to patients worldwide

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: We will be working with sponsors to collect and test samples. The samples could be residual samples from the pathology lab or prospectively collected samples from patients. In this position you will learn how to consent patients, collect and test samples as well as enter data into an electronic data capture system.
Work Environment and Dress Code: The work is performed primarily in a lab setting;an office setting with dress code: Business Casual or Scrubs as well as closed toe shoes.
Project-specific qualifications: Good communication and teamwork skills are vital in this position. This position will provide CITI training for Good Clinical Practice, Biological Substance training and IATA shipping training as well.
Hours per week: flexible based on student needs (10 maximum); flexible within regular work hours

LHSI Qualifications
must be graduating May 2028 or after (usually a current freshman or sophomore in Spring 2026)
Current full time IU Indianapolis undergraduate in 2026-27
minimum overall GPA of 2.0
