HELP (Health Equipment Lending Program) Intern
HELP Intern Job Description
The Intern reports to both the HELP Manager and the Executive Director, and is primarily responsible for learning customer service and support for all Good News Project programs.
Specific responsibilities:
- Offer excellent customer service to clients, customers and fellow volunteers.
- Learn and execute various tasks within the e-cycling program.
- Assist in training new volunteers for e-cycling tasks.
- Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project
- Bring forth new eyes and new ideas to the efficiency of Good News Project programs.
- Perform general daily and weekly tasks for the betterment and efficiency of the organization.
- Learn and execute intake and sanitizing procedures for the HELP closet.
- May be assigned to a committee for the semester.
- Assists with volunteer management, recruitment, and retention.
- Other tasks as assigned.
In communications, the Intern will:
1. As a Good News Project representative, maintain sound working relationships and cooperative arrangements with other community groups and organizations.
2. Meet with the Executive Director on a regular basis to maintain a collaborative relationship.
3. Represent the programs and point of view of the organization to agencies, organizations, and the general public. Give tours of our facility and explain our project goals, accomplishments and future ambitions.
4. Maintain good records and make these consistently accessible to other GNP staff. At the end of the internship, all records and work will be the property of GNP and reside at the 1106 Fifth St. Wausau office.
5. Answer phones in a professional manner.
In relations with volunteers, the Intern will:
1. Maintain a climate which attracts, keeps, and motivates top quality people in staff and volunteer positions.
2. Offer guidance and assistance to volunteers when necessary and applicable.
3. Respect and value the time and ideas of volunteers and staff members.
