Cutting Operator
Are you looking for a hands-on role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment? Join Green Bay Packaging as a Cutting Operator, where you’ll play a key role in producing high-quality packaging solutions.
In this position, you will set up, operate, and maintain die-cutting machines to cut, crease, and shape paperboard and other substrates. You’ll ensure accuracy, troubleshoot issues, and maintain production efficiency while contributing to a team that values safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Essential Job Functions
- Perform off-press and on-press make-readies accurately and efficiently.
- Set up and operate die-cutting presses according to job specifications.
- Follow detailed work instructions and standard operating procedures.
- Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Maintain equipment and report any mechanical issues promptly.
- Collaborate with team members and management to meet production goals and deadlines.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify changes in materials or processes.
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Basic computer proficiency and willingness to learn new systems.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
- Ability to perform the essential physical requirements of the job, which may include:
- Lifting up to 50 pounds
- Standing, bending, turning, and walking, including stairs
- Must be able to work either 2nd Shift (2pm - 10pm, Monday - Friday) OR 3rd Shift (10pm–6am, Sunday–Thursday), with occasional overtime/weekend work.
- Complete up to 120 days of training on 1st Shift (6am–2pm, Monday–Friday).
- Experience with automated die-cutting, stripping, and carton blanking systems is a plus but not required.
