Telecom Operations Intern
EchoStar has an exciting opportunity for a Telecom Operations Intern. This position will be located at our office in Littleton, CO.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in designing, developing, and testing AI/ML-based automation solutions for core network operations
- Support automation of operational tasks using scripting and orchestration tools
- Analyze network performance data and contribute to data-driven optimization use cases
- Participate in proof-of-concept (PoC) development for AI-driven network enhancements
- Collaborate with core network engineers on hybrid (cloud + on-prem) environments
- Document technical designs, workflows, and test results
- Support troubleshooting, monitoring, and optimization of automated systems
Education and Experience:
- GPA 3.3 or above
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, in a related field of study
- Must have 60 credit hours completed by May 2026
Skills and Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of AI/ML concepts (e.g., supervised learning, anomaly detection, predictive analytics)
- Programming/scripting experience in Python (mandatory)
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments
- Understanding of automation concepts (e.g., scripting, workflows, APIs)
- Basic knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, routing)
- Exposure to databases (SQL or NoSQL) is a plus
- Knowledge of AI tools is a plus
- Knowledge of telecom core networks (LTE/5G Core, NFV, SDN) is a plus
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) or containers (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus
- Familiarity with DevOps tools (Git, CI/CD pipelines, Ansible, Jenkins) is a plus
- Exposure to data visualization or monitoring tools is a plus
