Elementary Art/General Education Teacher

Qualified candidates will meet the following requirements and demonstrate the ability to:

Required Qualifications

  • Properly Licensed with Iowa Board of Educational Examiners for this position
    • Bachelor of Arts degree in Education or relevant field
    • Endorsement in Art
  • One or more of the following endorsements: K-6 Elementary Classroom, Reading, Math, Special Education, TAG, or ELL 

Primary Responsibilities

  • The Elementary Art Teacher at Northstar Elementary (grades 3-5) provides standards-based visual arts instruction for students in third through fifth grade. This position supports student creativity, skill development, and appreciation of art.
  • Demonstrates ability to enhance academic performance and support for and implementation of the school district’s student achievement goals.
  • Demonstrates competence in content knowledge appropriate to the teaching position.
  • Demonstrates competence in planning and preparing for instruction.
  • Uses strategies to deliver instruction that meets the multiple learning needs of students.
  • Uses a variety of methods to monitor student learning.
  • Demonstrates competence in classroom management.
  • Engages in professional growth.
  • Fulfills professional responsibilities established by the school district.

Compensation

  • Current minimum annual salary: approximately $50,224.00 with anticipated increase for the 26-27 school year.
  • Placement on the salary schedule will be based on education and experience.
