Camp Counselor
Counselor – 15 positions
Must be at least 18 years old prior to camp start date. One year out of high school is preferred.
Counselors are hired to implement the summer camp program. Each week, new kids come to camp. Counselors will be responsible for the safety and camp experience of 6-10 youth each week and must be able to confidently plan, lead, and participate in creative and innovative camp programming. Programming included worships, bible studies, water activities, outside games, indoor games and more.
Counselors facilitate Bible study, help lead worship, lead games, and lead activities in small and large group settings. Counselors will act as a role model and leader by managing risk, providing hospitality, and acting as a servant.
Counselors will participate in our Day Camp Program, being sent to various communities to bring camp to the church.
All summer staff will assist with community chores to help keep our summer home tidy and ready for our guests.
All summer staff will assist with community worship for the peninsula.
Counselors will rotate through additional positions throughout the summer, including, but not limited to: support staff, site help, day camp counselor and onsite counselor with a cabin.
Essential skills needed for this position are:
willingness to try, flexibility with time, adaptability, having a team mindset, creativity, appreciating the outdoors, willing to work together. A good understanding of Christianity is needed!
All duties and responsibilities will be taught and clearly explained during extensive training.
A Counselor is Program Staff, and reports to the Program Director.
Preferred Experience:
NeSoDak will work with individuals interested in obtaining their lifeguard and CPR certifications.
Compensation: Room and Board; $400 weekly (first year)
