Environmental Science Intern

French & Parrello Associates (FPA) is seeking an Intern for our Environmental Science Department in Wall, NJ. 

Responsibilities

• Assist with Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs)
• Support field investigations, including soil, groundwater, and surface water sampling
• Collect, organize, and interpret environmental data
• Assist in preparing reports, figures, and documentation for regulatory submittals
• Conduct research on environmental regulations, permitting requirements, and site histories
• Participate in environmental monitoring, wetland delineations, and habitat assessments as needed
• Maintain accurate field notes and data logs
• Collaborate with engineers, scientists, and project managers on multi-disciplinary teams
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology, Ecology, or a related field
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Basic understanding of environmental fieldwork and sampling techniques a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying field conditions
