Description of Organization: 
The Baruch STEP Academy is an academic enrichment program focusing on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education and providing college preparation. Managed through the CUNY Research Foundation, we serve 200 middle and high school students throughout the city each year. 
 

The Spring 2026 Program will operate over 12 sessions:
January 24 through April 25 from 8:30am-3pm, excluding February 21 and April 11.

Program Assistant (Multiple Positions)

Summary of Responsibilities

The STEP Academy at Baruch College is seeking in-person program assistants assist staff to support staff with facilitating workshops, monitoring student participation, and performing administrative and outreach tasks.

Specific Duties

Facilitate and assist with workshops and events 
Monitor and maintain student attendance records for in-person and remote courses
Database management
Compile and update relevant program materials and resources
Assist instructors, college counselors, and senior staff with administrative and student facing services
 

Application Deadline:  January 28 or until the position is filled | Interviews will start immediately

Start date: January 31 or February 7

Qualifications
   -Required:
Availability from 8:30am – 3:00pm for every Saturday session
Minimum two years of college credits
Prior experience working with middle or high school populations
Possess good interpersonal skills and office etiquette
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    -Preferred:
Current graduate student
Major in education, psychology, or STEM field
Have an interest in education, college readiness, or youth development
Capable of working well on team projects while balancing individual assignments
Mastery of various social media platforms
 
Salary: $20 per hour   |   Schedule: 8:30am-3:00pm
