Physical Therapist

Join our team at Legendary Performance where we offer a variety of treatment to our patients. We are looking for a qualified Physical Therapist to join our growing team. At Legendary Performance, you will plan and administer medically prescribed and necessary physical therapy and help to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent disability.

Essential Duties

Assesses patient condition, establishes goals, treatment and care plan in conjunction with patient, family, and physician

• Reviews physician’s referral/prescription and patient’s condition and medical records to determine physical therapy treatment required.
• Tests and measures patients’ strength, motor development, sensory perception, functional capacity, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency and records findings to develop or revise treatment programs.
• Plans and prepares written treatment program based on evaluation of patient data.
• Administers physical therapy treatments within scope of physical therapy practice appropriately and monitors patient responses to such treatments.
• Administer home exercise program for the patient to stay on target with set goals
• Evaluates effects of treatments at various stages and adjusts treatments to achieve maximum benefit.
• Documents findings, treatments, responses and progress in patients charts according to clinic guidelines.
• Ensures that appropriate treatment is performed in interdisciplinary fashion, consulting with physicians and other departments about impact of PT factors on patient health status.
• Complies with appropriate clinic policies related to infection control, safety, regulations.
• Educates patient and patients family on appropriate care and use of various therapies and/or exercises.
• Serves as information/education resource for patients, families, staff.
• Provide physical therapy services, maintaining appropriate protocols.
• Supervises and assists with student observation and clinical rotation if applicable.
• Participates in in-services and other departmental meetings that are organized.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Knowledge of physical therapy principles, standards and applications.
• Knowledge of clinic policies, procedures, regulations, safety and infection control, and quality control requirement.
• Knowledge and skill of how to use and maintain physical therapy equipment.
• Skill in appropriate evaluation and treatment of patients and the ability to evaluate utilization and quality data and make necessary modifications in performance
• Skill in effectively supervising physical therapy assistants and physical therapy techs.

Education and Experience

• Physical therapy degree from a college or university; one year of related experience and/or training preferred. New grads are welcome and encouraged to apply.
• Must possess a Florida Physical Therapy license and must be conspicuously displayed at each established practice of business or other location occupied in conducting business.
