Video Producer (Talktime Podcast)
Location: 1900 N Austin Ave, Chicago, IL 60639
Pay: $200 per session, with a negotiable rate for the right candidate.

Key responsibilities

Set up cameras, lighting, and audio equipment for live, in-person podcast recordings at 1900 N Austin Ave in Chicago.100hires+2​

Operate cameras and switch between angles during live shows featuring music performances and community guests

Manage live streaming to platforms (e.g., YouTube, Facebook, or similar), including monitoring audio and video quality during the sessions

Capture clean audio for both in-room experience and recorded/streamed episodes

Edit recordings into final episodes or clips for social media (basic cuts, color correction, audio leveling, titles)

Organize and back up video and audio files after each session​

Collaborate with the host and team on creative ideas for camera shots, intros/outros, and promotional clips.indeed+1​

Minimum requirements

Current college student or recent graduate with an interest in video production, film, media, or communications

Basic experience with camera operation (DSLR/mirrorless or similar) and audio recording (mixers, mics, or field recorders).​

Familiarity with at least one editing program (Premier Pro, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve, or similar)​

Comfortable working in a live environment with musicians, guests, and community members.indeed+1​

Reliable transportation to 1900 N Austin Ave, Chicago, IL 60639 for in-person sessions.

Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends, depending on the live recording schedule.indeed

Preferred skills

Experience live streaming events or podcasts.​

Knowledge of multi-camera setups and switching software (OBS, StreamYard, or similar

Basic graphic or motion design skills for lower thirds, titles, and social promo clips.​

Interest in live music, community storytelling, or youth/community-focused work.library+1​

Schedule and compensation

Part-time, project-based role; sessions scheduled in advance based on podcast recording calendar.​

Compensation: $200 per session, with the possibility of a higher negotiable rate based on experience and responsibilities (e.g., advanced editing or additional production duties).​
