Chemical Project Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Planning and managing capital improvement projects. 
  • Providing detailed design work and engineering plans for projects, with emphasis on HSE aspects. 
  • Procuring supplies, equipment, and services as needed to support core activities. 
  • Providing engineering support, training and problem solving/troubleshooting during start-up of projects. 
  • Investigating opportunities to improve safety, risk management, efficiency, and/or performance of existing processes and systems, either independently or as part of a team activity. 
  • Selecting and preparing equipment for applying Chem-Trend products and answering technical questions from customers and sales teams on the proper operation and maintenance of the equipment. 
  • Maintaining existing plant technical drawings such as site plans, P&ID’s, mechanical drawings, etc. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field. 
  • 2+ years industrial experience, preferably in chemical process industry. 
  • Experience working with P&ID’s and PHA’s. 
  • Experience with industrial automation and IIoT applications is desired. 
  • Proficiency in German, Spanish, Portuguese or Chinese is desired. 
  • Experience in Operational Excellence concepts is desired.
