Responsibilities
Front Office Duties
Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments
Coordinate and book procedures
Update and maintain electronic medical records (EMR)
Verify insurance eligibility and benefits
Obtain prior authorizations for medications, imaging (MRI/CT), and procedures
Coordinate referrals to specialists
Greet and check in patients; handle phone calls professionally and efficiently
Back Office Duties
Escort patients to exam rooms and record vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, weight, etc.)
Assist providers during patient examinations and procedures
Check out patients and provide post-visit instructions
Educate patients on treatment plans and office procedures
Ensure exam rooms and medical equipment are clean, stocked, and properly sterilized
Qualifications
Certified Medical Assistant or Associate’s Degree in Medical Assisting – Required
Fluent in English and Spanish – Required
CPR/BLS/ACLS certification – Preferred
Prior experience in gastroenterology or specialty practice – Preferred
Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
