Paducah Sun News Editor

The Paducah Sun is seeking a journalist to serve as News Editor. The ideal candidate will have experience in both reporting and editing, though training will be provided for the right applicant. This position plays a central role in the newsroom and is responsible for the day-to-day production of the newspaper Monday through Friday. Duties include assigning stories, determining daily news priorities, editing copy, and producing page layouts in coordination with reporters and page designers. 

The News Editor will also write original stories, copyedit the work of others, and manage the newspaper’s social media accounts. In addition to the daily paper, this position oversees content for periodic special publications. Strong news judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines are essential. 

The Paducah Sun is an 18,000 - circulation morning newspaper and the flagship publication of Paxton Media Group LLC, which publishes more than 30 daily newspapers in the Southeast and Midwest.
