Role Description
This is a full-time, entry-level professional position based in Tampa, FL, for an Engineering Intern (Transportation). This role supports the planning, analysis, and design of transportation infrastructure projects, including highways, roadways, and traffic systems, under the supervision of licensed professional engineers. While this role is titled intern, it is not an internship. If you are a student, please consider our engineering internship!
Responsibilities include assisting with technical analysis, traffic modeling, and design tasks related to transportation projects, as well as preparing calculations, exhibits, and documentation in accordance with applicable standards, regulations, and project requirements. The position is intended for a degree-holding engineer gaining progressive experience toward professional licensure.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Transportation Engineering, with a preferred focus on transportation engineering.
- Engineer Intern (EI/EIT) certification required or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe.
- Engineering experience or internship exposure in transportation, traffic, or roadway design.
- Familiarity with transportation engineering principles, traffic engineering concepts, and transportation planning.
- Ability to perform technical analysis and support design tasks under supervision.
- Knowledge of applicable industry standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license not required for this role.
