Quality Engineering Intern
Core Molding Technologies is hiring a Quality Engineering Intern to support manufacturing quality, data analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
This paid internship provides hands-on experience in quality systems, root cause analysis, audits, and customer/supplier quality within a manufacturing environment.
You’ll work closely with Quality, Operations, Engineering, and Customer teams to help improve product quality, reduce scrap, and strengthen quality management processes.
What You’ll Do
- Collect, analyze, and report quality data, trends, and issues
- Support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions
- Assist with IATF 16949 quality system compliance activities
- Help document and track customer complaints and responses
- Participate in scrap reduction and continuous improvement projects
- Support MRB activities and documentation
- Assist with APQP and PPAP documentation
- Help update PFMEAs, Control Plans, work instructions, and procedures
- Support calibration records, basic metrology, and gage databases
- Assist with document control and QMS documentation updates
- Support internal audit preparation and follow-up activities
- Help track supplier quality issues and non-conformances
- Assist with chargeback analysis and customer concern reporting
What We’re Looking For
- Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or related field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Basic understanding of manufacturing and quality concepts
- Comfortable working with data and solving problems logically
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Team-oriented with a positive, learning-focused attitude
Preferred
- Coursework in Quality, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma
- Familiarity with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, or ISO 14001
- Experience with technical documentation or data analysis
- Interest in manufacturing, automotive, or plastics/composites environments
Job Details
- Position Type: Paid internship
- Schedule: Monday to Friday during business hours (flexible for school schedules)
- Travel: Minimal to none
- Work Environment: Office and manufacturing floor
- Physical Requirements: Occasionally lift/move up to 50 lbs
