Introduction:
This posting one of several summer intern positions that are available in Cheese Importer Firms through the Cheese Importers Association. Ideal candidates are sophomores or juniors in college with an interest in supply chain management or marketing. Other positions located throughout the U.S.
Introduction: Responsible for assisting the Supply Chain Logistics team in gathering data and conducting analysis with the goal of improving the organizations supply chain operations. The supply chain intern role will help identify underperforming areas and develop improvements or resolutions to those problems.
Housing and Transportation is not provided.
Supply Chain
- Supports US Logistics/ Supply Chain Organization with the preparation of necessary analyses that assist with and support forecasting, planning, customer service, distribution and transportation functions.
- Assist in the maintenance of Global Supply Chain reports. Support S&OP, Demand Review, Supply Review, and license management review process.
- Provides daily/weekly/monthly performance dashboard to enable monitoring of forecast accuracy, back-order, line fill, and inventory turns.
- Prepare exceptions, updates and documents for relevant business review, attending meetings and making presentations as designated.
- Support in the development of new SOPs, ensure systematic coordination.
- Assist with delivery of supply chain projects and continuous improvement (e.g. route planning, synergies, reducing costs in the flow, third party logistics, and warehouse).
- Participate in cross-functional and department projects and in general.
- Understanding of supply chain functions with a focus on efficiency and problem solving.
- Project delivery to agreed specifications.
Technical Skills & Competencies:
- Strong computer skills, i.e. Microsoft Office Suites, Out Look, and have the capacity to learn new systems i.e. SAP.
- Must be organized with the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and creative thinking skills with within a structured and time sensitive environment.
- Must be detail-oriented with attention to accuracy.
Education and Experience Required:
- Must be perusing a Bachelor’s degree, concentration in supply chain preferred.
