Undergraduate Summer Intern

The Nantucket Historical Association is excited to offer three internships for undergraduate students during the summer of 2026. Individuals with diverse backgrounds, experiences, and abilities are encouraged to apply.

Please send a cover letter that includes a description of how this internship aligns with your career goals, a resume, and two references to agilbertkeith@nha.org. The deadline for applications is February 15, 2026.

Undergraduate students from any two- or four-year college or university are eligible to apply. A focus in history, education, or museum studies is helpful but not required.

In the summer, the NHA’s Whaling Museum, as well as six historic sites and the Research Library, are open to the public. Reporting to the Visitor Experience Coordinator, interns will work as Museum/Site Guides throughout the internship. Working under the direction of the Archives Engagement Coordinator or Education Manager, interns will also complete a focused project based at the Research Library or in Museum Education.

Interns will work 37.5 hours per week and must be available to work weekends and some evenings. Interns are paid on a bi-weekly basis. Housing will not be provided by the NHA.
