English Language Arts Teacher - Elgin High School

The following position is an opening in the Elgin Local Schools for the 2026-2027 school year:


Position: High School English-Language Arts Teacher


Minimum Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s Degree
● Proper Certification/Licensure
● BCI/FBI clearance


Essential Functions:
● Teach ELA skills using approved curriculum, standards and methods.
● Collaborate with other staff to implement effective educational programs.
● Evaluate student growth, assign grades, track attendance, and provide
feedback on student work.
● Establish and maintain a positive, orderly, and productive learning
environment.
● Support students by identifying student needs, cooperate with counselors
and other staff and support students’ well being.

Salary: To Be Determined based on negotiated salary schedule
Contract Days: 183 days
Start Date: August 17, 2026
