Position Summary
The Preschool Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment for children ages 3–5. The teacher will plan and implement lessons that support early literacy, math, social-emotional development, and motor skills while fostering a love of learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and implement age-appropriate, engaging lessons aligned with early childhood standards
- Create a positive, structured, and nurturing classroom environment
- Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development
- Use positive behavior guidance and classroom management strategies
- Observe, document, and assess student progress
- Communicate regularly and professionally with families regarding student growth and needs
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment
- Collaborate with administrators and team members to support school goals
- Follow all school policies, state licensing requirements, and safety procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (required)
- CDA, Associate’s, or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (preferred)
- Previous experience working with preschool-aged children
- Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
- Ability to pass background check and meet state licensing requirements
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
