                         WE NEED WASHINGTON DC AREA TOUR GUIDES

                                   GET PAID TO BE A HISTORY NERD! 

Historic America is a travel & tourism company based in Washington, DC. We are seeking passionate and punctual nerds to join our in-person team of professional tour guides for the 2026 tour season. 

Whether you’re looking for a fun, flexible gig, or want to launch a rewarding career — tour guiding is a great opportunity. Must be able to walk, talk, and interact with groups of all sizes. 

There’s no experience required and we provide free training.

2-3 Hour Tours Start @ $200 + tips

Longer Tours $350/day - $500/day + tips

Bus Tours, Private Tours, School Tours, Corporate Tours

Tour sites include Arlington National Cemetery, National Mall, Tidal Basin, Smithsonian Museums, National Gallery of Art, White House neighborhood, Capitol grounds and more!

JANUARY 26th, 28th, & 29th @ 7:30 PM to 8PM - The first step. Register for a ZOOM informational session. Our trainers Aaron & Alex can’t wait to share this exciting opportunity with you! We’ll tell you about guiding professionally, as well as explain our interview and training process. You can ask us questions, too.

FEBRUARY 2nd, 4th, & 5th - The second step. In-person interviews at DC’s MLK Memorial Library. You’ll be informed by February 6th if you’ve been selected for our spring training program.

MID/LATE OF FEBRUARY - Spring training! We’ll provide in person logistical training for tour guiding in Washington, DC, as well as equip you with scripts, sources and storytelling skills to set you up for success.

END OF FEBRUARY/EARLY MARCH - Onsite evaluation. Show us you’re ready to lead tours.

MARCH & BEYOND - Lead your own tours!
