IT Support Analyst Intern

Position Overview: 
The IT Support Analyst Intern position works as a member of the Information Technology team to extend 1st and 2nd level support to local and remote end users.  This position deals with issues or problems that often require thoughtful evaluation before coming up with approaches or solutions.  This position must develop and maintain good working relationships, resolve problems, and positively influence others in order to successfully produce customer satisfaction.

Your Day to Day as an IT Support Analyst Intern:

  • Install, relocate and upgrade PC hardware, software, peripherals, and other devices to satisfy business and end-user requirements 
  • Provide 1st and 2nd level Service Desk support to end users and remote Site Administrators, for PC and software-related issues
  • User Account Administration and associated documentation control
  • Minimize equipment failures through proper design and setup of standardized desktop systems and processes 
  • Work with the IT Operations management to determine strategic direction for the desktop environment, including the evaluation and testing of new technologies
  • Develop work procedures, Standard Operating Procedures, and end-user technical documentation related to the desktop environment
  • Maintain computer cabinets, storage rooms, and PC, Laptop, peripherals, and parts inventory 
  • Ensure effective communication between desktop support team and the rest of the IT organization, including status reports of projects and systems issues 
  • Provision, configure, troubleshoot and track company smartphones and broadband devices
  • Carry out audit tasks to ensure that secure systems and management oversight is performed to meet SOX and internal audit commitments 
  • Plan and execute user system refresh

 

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma with current enrollment and completed college coursework in a Bachelor's degree or higher degree program in Information Technology
  • Ability to identify, research, and resolve desktop system issues in a timely manner 
  • Technical proficiency in computer hardware, computer operating systems and desktop applications 
  • Commitment to ongoing training and new system implementation 
  • Able and willing to do some required travel between Mt. Athos Sites
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills 

 

  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with customers, co-workers and Administration
  • Ability to tactfully make contacts with other departments, and utilize good judgment to ensure effective support 
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.  
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in PC imaging and software package creation/deployment
  • Demonstrated ability to manage priorities and handle multiple tasks successfully 
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple complex situations independently
