Human Resources Intern

Elford, Inc. is looking for a Human Resource Intern to join our team for the Summer of 2026. As a Human Resource Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience, collaborating directly with Elford’s HR team. This is an exciting opportunity to partner and gain exposure to the many areas of HR, including recruiting, benefits, onboarding, day to day administrative tasks, and more! 

 

Essential Job Functions: 

  • Attends and participates in HR meetings, focusing on the effectiveness of the organization.
  • Assists HR by reviewing, organizing, and updating internal databases and records.
  • Prepare HR-related reports as needed as well as contribute to HR related research (with assistance from HR team)
  • Collaborates cross-functionally with the internal teams HR supports. 
  • Assists with reviewing resumes and recruiting coordination.
  • Assists with Elford’s onboarding process.
  • Supports employee recognition efforts including event planning and employee communication. 
  • Collaborates with the HR team on projects related to training and development. 
  • Assists in updating and maintaining HR policies and procedures in compliance with labor laws and regulations.
  • Represents the organization at career fairs, including college/university and high school recruitment events.
  • Plans, coordinates, and supports outreach events targeted toward small businesses and community partners.
  • Assists in expanding organizational visibility and engagement related to federally funded programs.
  • Provides administrative support to the HR team as needed.

 

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Pursing a Bachelors or Associate degree in human resources or a related field.
  • Experience with MS Office 
  • Collaborative, innovative and curious 
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Located in Columbus, OH (in office 5-days a week)
