2026 Identity and Access Management Intern

General:

The Identity and Access Management (IAM) Intern will be part of the IAM team, which focuses on securing access to systems and applications, managing user identities, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The internship provides experience with foundational IAM technologies such as SailPoint and CyberArk, exposure to IAM governance processes like user access reviews & privileged access certifications, and an understanding of IAM controls and governance routines. Additionally, the intern will gain insights into automation and process optimization, enabling them to contribute to enhancing operational efficiency and compliance.  In addition to working with the IAM team they will participate in weekly intern cohort learning/development activities and collaborate with other interns on a group project.

 

Role Description:

As the Identity and Access Management (IAM) Intern, you will assist the IAM team in executing key activities related to user identity lifecycle management, access reviews, and compliance initiatives. You will work with IAM engineers, application owners, and compliance teams to document processes, create reports, and assist in implementing solutions. To be effective, interns must have strong analytical skills and the ability to work with large datasets to conduct analysis, derive actionable insights, and support remediation efforts. This internship offers hands-on experience with IAM technologies and governance processes, providing valuable exposure to industry standards and best practices in identity and access management.

 

Functional Responsibilities:

  • Assist in day-to-day activities of the IAM team, including user access reviews, certifications, and governance processes.
  • Collaborate with team members to analyze data, identify trends, and derive actionable insights to support remediation and decision-making.
  • Work with IAM engineers to document and optimize IAM processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Research and evaluate opportunities to enhance automation and process efficiency within IAM functions.
  • Prepare and maintain reports and dashboards to provide stakeholders with insights into IAM metrics and compliance statuses.
  • Participate in meetings and contribute to discussions on IAM governance, IAM controls, and process optimization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the IAM team’s initiatives.

 

Job Knowledge Requirements:

  • Fundamental knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices
  • Introductory knowledge of cloud-based infrastructure and operations
  • Experience with Microsoft office
  • Demonstrates ability to learn new concepts and skills
  • Ability to be organized, balance and prioritize work; very detailed oriented

 

Qualifications:

  • Current students with an expected graduation date of May/June 2027
  • Working toward completion of undergraduate degree in information technology, computer science, engineering or related technical field preferred.
  • Undergraduate hands-on and general knowledge coursework in cybersecurity or information technology
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
