2026 Junior CI/CD Engineer Internship

General:

The Junior CI/CD Engineer Intern will be part of the DevOps team in the IT Data group.  The team is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented software engineer. This is an excellent opportunity for someone eager to launch a career in DevOps, working with modern automation tools and practices in a highly regulated financial environment. You will gain hands-on experience with industry-standard technologies and learn how to support secure, compliant software delivery pipelines. The intern will also participate in weekly enrichment activities with Mizuho’s full intern cohort and collaborate with other interns on a group project.

 

Role Description:

Assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines using Git, Jenkins, and Azure DevOps.  Support the automation of build, test, and deployment processes for various applications.  Learn and apply scripting skills in PowerShell, Python, Groovy, and Bash to automate routine tasks and improve workflow efficiency.

 

Functional Responsibilities:

  • Help manage and deploy containerized applications using Docker.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to troubleshoot issues in the CI/CD process and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Document processes, configurations, and best practices to support compliance and audit requirements.
  • Participate in team meetings, code reviews, and training sessions to build foundational DevOps knowledge.
  • Stay current with emerging DevOps tools and practices, especially as they relate to security and regulatory compliance.

 

Job Knowledge Requirements:

  • Skilled in Python or Powershell
  • Familiarity with SQL
  • Knowledge of Docker / Containerization a plus

 

Qualifications:

  • Current students with an expected graduation date of May/June 2027
  • Preferred majors: computer science, computer engineering & related degrees
