The Advanced Technician  Glass Thimble Forming is responsible for Glass that involves the process of creating various glass products by shaping molten or pre-existing glass. This includes operating machinery (lathe, cutting machine, and ovens) to mold, cut, or finish glass items, as well as inspecting for conformance to requirements.  This role also maintains equipment used for melting, shaping, cutting, and finishing glass products. This includes machines for pressing or molten glass, cutting tables, and finishing equipment (grinding, beveling, etc.) and acid for cleaning and etching. 

 

This position reports to the Director of Manufacturing and is part of the Hardware Manufacturing team located in Nicholasville, KY and will be an on-site role. 

 

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

Setup, adjust, run, and maintain production equipment used in the manufacturing process

Read, interpret, and record measurements using inspection equipment such as micrometers and gauges to ensure conformance to quality requirements

Aid in problem solving through identification and resolution of issues, as well as supporting continuous improvement with machinery or production processes

 

The essential requirements of the job include:

Minimum Education: High School Degree or Equivalent

Minimum Years of Experience: 7+ years

Proficiency in operating machinery

 

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

Ability to travel 75% to Miami, FL facility for on-going training and support in first year of employment.

 

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

Prior experience in glass forming

Use of measuring tools such as micrometers and gauges

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
