USD 290 is seeking a visionary, empathetic, and dedicated leader to serve as the Principal of Sunflower Elementary School. We are looking for an administrator who doesn’t just manage a building, but fosters a vibrant ecosystem where every child feels seen, heard, and empowered to succeed.

Key Responsibilities
Champion Student-Centric Excellence: Lead the implementation of instructional strategies that prioritize student agency, social-emotional growth, and personalized learning pathways.
Empower a Diversified Staff: Cultivate a professional culture that values the diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives of our educators. You will be responsible for mentoring a team of professionals and fostering a collaborative environment where every staff member can thrive.
Community Engagement: Build strong, transparent relationships with families and the Ottawa community, ensuring that Sunflower Elementary remains a welcoming "home base" for all stakeholders.
Data-Informed Leadership: Use academic and behavioral data to drive continuous improvement, ensuring equitable outcomes for all student populations.
Qualifications
Valid Kansas Building Administrator license (or eligibility for licensure).
Proven experience in elementary classroom instruction and/or school leadership.
A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in a school setting.
Exceptional communication skills and a "relational-first" leadership philosophy.
