The Wisconsin Veterans Home at Union Grove (WVHUG) is seeking a Nurse Clinician 3, to serve as AM Shift Charge Nurse on a care team. The Home is a 24/7/365 long-term care facility that specializes in providing comfort, support, and professional healthcare services to elderly or disabled veterans and their spouses. Our facility is in Racine County, a short drive from Milwaukee, Racine, Kenosha, and other key locations throughout southeastern Wisconsin.

This Nurse Clinician 3 job is a highly responsible advanced-level professional nursing position that provides management of direct care activities and oversight of personnel at WVHUG when first-line supervisors are absent. The position functions as the Administrative Charge Nurse, assuming facility-wide responsibility for nursing staff, services and activities. The incumbent performs administrative duties under the general supervision of the Nursing Supervisor (DON) and with direction from the Assistant DON and Veterans Home Administrator.

Salary Information
Starting salary will be between $54.00 - $56.10 per hour, depending on candidate qualifications.
Nurse Clinician 3 is in pay schedule-pay range 11-01. Pay will be set in accordance with the State of Wisconsin Compensation Plan in effect at the time of hire. Starting pay for current State employees may vary based on applicable provisions in the Compensation Plan.
Job Details
The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Due to the nature of the position, WDVA will conduct a criminal background check prior to an offer of employment.
Employment in this position is contingent upon passing a pre-employment tuberculosis (TB) skin test.
A 12-month probationary period may be required.
Qualifications
The required credential is:
Wisconsin Registered Nurse license by the date of hire
In addition to the license, required qualifications that will be reviewed in the first step of the process are experience:
providing nursing care to patients in long-term care
In addition to the qualifications reviewed in the first step of the process, qualifications that will be reviewed in next steps are experience:
- in a team lead or project lead role*
- providing education/training to staff or patients*
- using Point-Click-Care
- with critical thinking
- in a formal lead worker role
