Impact & Evaluation Intern (Programs)
Are you interested in how data and learning can strengthen programs for youth? Girl Scouts Nation’s Capital is seeking an Impact & Evaluation Intern to support evaluation, data collection, and impact reporting for our youth-centered programming.
This internship offers hands-on experience in nonprofit impact measurement and equity-centered learning while contributing to work that helps ensure Girl Scouting is meaningful and accessible across our region.
What You’ll Do
As part of the Impact Department, you’ll work with the Director of Impact to support program evaluation and learning efforts, including:
Impact Measurement & Data Support
- Collecting, organizing, and cleaning program and survey data
- Supporting pre- and post-program surveys and feedback tools
- Maintaining spreadsheets and internal tracking tools
Program Evaluation & Learning
- Assisting with evaluations of selected programs and initiatives
- Conducting basic research or literature reviews
- Summarizing findings into internal memos or briefs
Reporting & Storytelling
- Supporting impact and grant reports and internal presentations
- Helping translate data into clear charts, summaries, and one-pagers
Collaboration & Support
- Working with teams across the organization to align data and reporting needs
- Participating in required training and supporting special projects
Who You Are
- A current undergraduate or graduate student with an interest in youth development, education, equity, or social impact
- Organized, curious, and comfortable working with data and information
- A clear communicator who can translate information into accessible language
- Able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Comfortable using Microsoft Excel and similar tools
Bonus If You Bring
- Coursework or experience in program evaluation, research, or data analysis
- Experience with youth-serving or community-based organizations
- Interest in or connection to communities historically underrepresented in Girl Scouts
- Academic background or coursework in fields such as education, public health, public policy, nonprofit management, social work, evaluation studies, applied statistics, or related areas
Additional Details
This is a hybrid internship, with a preference for candidates located in the Washington, DC metro area. The internship is semester-based (Spring, Summer, or Fall), with a time commitment of approximately 10–15 hours per week. Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required with advance notice.
This internship may be eligible for academic credit, depending on school requirements.
Compensation
The pay rate for this position is $17.95 per hour (DC minimum wage).
