Marketing Intern - Spring 2026

Marketing Intern

Women in Tech & Entrepreneurship (WTE) is seeking a strategic, creative, and results-driven Marketing Intern to support and scale our fast-growing newsletter and email ecosystem. In this role, you will learn directly from an expert CMO while helping monetize our newsletters, deepen member engagement across events and programs, and deliver valuable resources to our 6,000+ members.

 

This is a hands-on position for someone excited to build email mastery, experiment with digital monetization, and craft compelling messaging that inspires action.

 

 

Responsibilities:

Email Monetization & Strategy

  • Support the development of monetization pathways across newsletters and email campaigns (affiliate links, sponsorships, paid placements, premium resource distribution, etc.).
  • Assist in building outbound and inbound email inventory including ad units, internal promos, and sponsored content opportunities.
  • Work with CEO to draft copy, layout formats, and scheduling plans that maximize engagement and revenue potential.
  • Track newsletter performance to identify high-value content themes and monetization insights.

     

Newsletter Creation & Optimization

Monthly Regional Newsletters (8 Regions):

  • Co-develop consistent monthly newsletters with localized event content.
  • Write short-form and long-form newsletter content highlighting WTE events, community wins, opportunities, grants, and resources.
  • Structure newsletters to increase open rates, click-through rates, and conversion to event registrations.
  • Learn newsletter list-building, segmentation, management, and A/B testing.

     

Member Engagement Campaigns

  • Create, schedule, and send reminder and follow-up emails for all events and workshops.
  • Customize messaging for WTE’s diverse audiences, emphasizing speakers, opportunities, and value.
  • Draft post-event thank-you emails and feedback requests to drive continued engagement and insights.
  • Support new email series aimed at resourcing members (e.g., job roundups, funding opportunities, leadership content, founder tools).

     

Content & Resource Delivery

  • Conduct light research to source and share curated resources for founders, tech workers, students, and job seekers.
  • Assist in creating email content that highlights scholarships, workshops, partner opportunities, and curated learning tools.
  • Help maintain a consistent and compelling voice aligned with WTE’s warm, community-forward brand.

     

Marketing Strategy & Experimentation

  • Analyze email performance and help suggest optimizations in layout, subject lines, CTAs, and segmentation.
  • Experiment with automation, conditional content, and targeting to increase conversions.
  • Support new ideas for expanding newsletter reach and engagement across regions.

     

General Support

  • Work closely with the marketing team to maintain alignment and consistency across social media, email, and Eventbrite event pages.

     

Qualifications:

  • Currently a USF or FUSE program student from: Hillsborough Community College, St. Petersburg College, College of Central Florida, Pasco-Hernando State College, Polk State College, Santa Fe College, South Florida State College, State College of Florida
  • Excellent writing and editing skills with a strong interest in persuasive, energetic marketing copy.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple email timelines.
  • Curiosity and analytical mindset with a desire to improve engagement through experimentation.
  • Passionate about women’s empowerment, entrepreneurship, technology, and community-building.
  • Experience with Canva, HubSpot, Mailchimp, or marketing automation tools is a plus.
  • Interest in media, community monetization, and emerging creator-economy strategies is a bonus.

Internship Details

  • Duration: Spring 2026 (February - April, flexible dates)
  • Location: In-office
  • $3,000 stipend
  • Hours: 10-20 hours per week (to be determined with company)
