General Purpose:
The Teaching Assistant position is an opportunity for current IU Indianapolis students to provide administrative support to faculty in the Kelley School of Business in Indianapolis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide support to faculty in the form of assisting Professor Alexx Dungey, moderating Zoom class sessions when scheduled, moderating class discussions (if working during class times) and class projects, grading assignments or quizzes, entering grades in Canvas, updating Canvas assignments or announcements, other support as required. There may be other projects to assist faculty on an as-needed basis.
Primary functions:
- Assist with grading assignments
- Provide general assistance listed above.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Must have successfully completed BUS-X 100 with a grade of “B+” or higher
- Have and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or greater.
- Must be willing to complete FERPA training if hired
- Must be reliable and able to manage time to work on multiple assignments.
- Understanding or capacity to learn course content at a level sufficient to be knowledgeable of
- topic independently, and to evaluate student work fairly and objectively.
- Sufficient interpersonal skills for writing constructive comments on problem sets.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
- Must be courteous, prompt, and completely dependable.
Preferred:
- Must possess working knowledge of Zoom, Canvas, and Microsoft Office Suite programs.
- Must have the ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines.
