Role Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled, multi-talented Bridal Alterations Intern. This role offers a unique opportunity to work directly with the Owner, gaining first-hand mentorship in the technical, aesthetic, and business sides of the bridal industry. We need someone with the technical hands of a tailor, the calm confidence of a stylist, and a creative eye for social media.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Execution: Perform delicate hand-sewing and industrial machine work, including lace appliqués, beadwork repair, and structural adjustments.
- Fitting Assistance: Work alongside the Owner during bride consultations. You will assist in pinning for fit, balance, and bustles while helping maintain a serene, high-end atmosphere for our clients.
- Social Media Promotion: Help capture the "behind-the-scenes" artistry of the studio. This includes creating engaging reels, taking "before and after" photos, and helping promote the studio’s brand (and your own professional growth) on social platforms.
- Quality Control: Meticulous final inspections, professional steaming, removing lace from delicate fabric, horsehair boning on delicate fabric.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Expert Sewing Skills: Must be a highly proficient sewer on both industrial machines and by hand. Exceptional technical precision is a must.
- An Eye for Fit: A natural understanding of garment proportion and how a gown should fit on the body.
- Interpersonal Excellence: Ability to remain composed and professional when working with sensitive or high-pressure clients. We need a partner who can provide a calming presence and excellent service during emotional milestones.
- Social Media Savvy: Experience creating aesthetic content. You should be comfortable showcasing the craft and the brand to a digital audience.
Strong Attention to Detail: An eye for small details.
