Position Title: Marketing Intern

The Marketing Intern will support the Community Services Department with day-to-day marketing and outreach tasks. Responsibilities may include assisting with the design of basic promotional materials (flyers, posters, and digital graphics), capturing photos and short videos at summer programs and special events, and helping staff with event outreach such as Arts Night Out, Library Storytimes and other community activities. The intern may also assist with the preparation and delivery of marketing materials across Community Services facilities and programs, support content organization for social media or internal use, and complete other marketing-related tasks as assigned. This position provides hands-on experience with public sector marketing, community engagement, and event support in a collaborative team environment.
Intern Qualifications: Current student with an interest in marketing, communications, graphic design, public relations, or a related field. Basic familiarity with common design or content tools (such as Canva, Adobe, or similar platforms) or a willingness to learn Comfortable using a smartphone or camera to capture photos and short videos Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to communicate professionally and work collaboratively with staff and the public Dependable, punctual, and able to follow instructions Interest in community engagement, public service, or local events
The ideal candidate is a motivated and dependable student who is interested in marketing, communications, or community engagement and is eager to gain hands-on experience in a public service setting. They are creative, curious, and willing to learn, with a positive attitude and openness to feedback. This individual is comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, enjoys supporting community events, and is willing to pitch in on a variety of tasks, from basic design work to event support and material distribution. Strong communication skills, reliability, and an interest in serving the community are more important than prior professional experience.
