Security & Integrity Intern

Compensation

$17.55 - $17.55

(Based on Experience)

 

Summary

The Security/Hazmat interns will focus on supporting GLWA in the area of Hazmat operations.

 

Job Responsibilities

• Perform tasks associated with Confined Space Rescue, mitigate spills and/or leaks associated with the dispersal of Hazardous Materials

• Identify hazards and conduct damage assessments

• Research and conduct atmospheric monitoring and/or sampling

• Set up mechanical advantage rope systems

• Conduct decontamination processes

• Provide safety and protection of GLWA facilities and team members

• Patrol GLWA facilities and sites

• Conduct physical security assessments

• Perform on-the-job training

• Monitor security equipment

• Coordinate and follow security procedures     

 

Required Education and Experience

At the time of application, applicants must:

 

• Currently enrolled in an associate, bachelor’s or master's degree program with an accredited college or university

• Currently enrolled in a related degree program to the internship in which they are applying

• A student in good standing and classified by their institution as a rising sophomore or higher

• Able to commit to working at least 20 hours per week

• Able to commit to the intern position for a minimum of two months

 

Other Requirements:

Valid Driver's License
