FIRST YEAR LAW STUDENT SUMMER INTERNS
The Greene County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office is committed to working as ministers of justice to ensure that justice is achieved fairly, effectively and efficiently through advocacy and community leadership. We are looking for first year law students with excellent credentials who are interested in criminal prosecution and the pursuit of justice.
We are located in Springfield, Missouri, a city of 169,000 people, and a place that has everything you desire. Minimum experience/skills:
- Interest in public service, public safety, and the pursuit of justice
- Desire and ability to effectively work as a member of a team
- Excellent legal writing/oral advocacy
Opportunities Offered:
First-year law students can gain hands-on legal experience by working as interns in the Greene County Prosecuting Attorney's Office, where they'll be immersed in real criminal cases from day one—reviewing police reports, researching legal issues, drafting motions, and observing court proceedings across misdemeanor, felony, and traffic dockets while learning the fundamentals of criminal prosecution in a high-volume office environment.
Interns work directly alongside experienced Assistant Prosecuting Attorneys gaining mentorship and practical skills that go far beyond classroom learning and will develop a deep understanding of how prosecutors balance justice, public safety, and ethical obligations in their daily work.
