About SlapStik Comedy Entertainment
SlapStik Comedy Entertainment is a comedy media company based in Columbus, Ohio. We publish SlapStik Comedy Magazine and create digital content across our blog, social media, and YouTube. We are building a platform that highlights comedians and comedy culture, and we are looking for writers who can bring strong ideas, clean writing, and a sense of fun to the team.

Position overview
This internship is for writers who want real world experience writing entertainment and comedy focused content. Interns will write blog articles and may also interview comedians for features. You will learn how to pitch story ideas, write on deadline, and develop content that fits a clear brand voice and audience.

Internship details
Unpaid internship for college credit
Remote friendly with Columbus based opportunities if you are local
Schedule is flexible around your class commitments
Weekly team meeting required every Sunday from 12P EST to 1P EST except holidays

Responsibilities
Write magazine articles focused on comedy, entertainment, and comedian culture
Pitch article ideas and collaborate with the editorial team on topics and angles
Revise drafts based on feedback and submit final versions on deadline
Follow writing guidelines provided by the team including tone, structure, and formatting
When assigned, research and prepare interview questions for comedians
Conduct comedian interviews by video call, phone, or email and write the final interview feature
Collect and organize interview notes, quotes, and approved details for publication
Support magazine features as needed based on production cycles

Qualifications
Strong writing skills with clean grammar and clear storytelling
Interest in comedy, entertainment media, and interviewing
Ability to meet deadlines and respond well to feedback
Comfortable communicating professionally with comedians and talent teams
Basic research skills and ability to verify names, credits, and details
Reliable attendance at the required Sunday meeting time
