Human Resources Representative Intern

Job Overview

The Human Resources Representative Intern provides entry-level support to the HR team and is designed for students in their final year of study or recent graduates interested in human resources, employee relations, and HR operations. This role offers hands-on exposure to core HR functions including onboarding, employee support, data administration, people analytics, leadership programs, and compliance, while developing foundational professional and communication skills.

The intern will work closely with HR leadership and site managers to support daily HR activities and employee services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support employees with basic HR questions and assist with onboarding, orientation, and internal communications.
  • Participate and support special projects with HRIS and Operational leaders aligned with HR’s vision.
  • Perform HR administrative tasks, including data entry, employee record updates, and document management in HR systems.
  • Assist with recruitment activities such as job postings, resume screening, interview scheduling, and hiring events or career fairs.
  • Help compile and maintain basic HR reports and people metrics (headcount, turnover, hiring activity, attendance) using Excel and HR systems.
  • Support coordination of leadership training and employee development programs, including tracking participation and feedback.
  • Participate and support in employee investigations. 
  • Assist with HR projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Key Qualifications

  • Currently in the final year of study or recently graduated with a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Positive attitude and interest in learning about HR operations.

Role’s Mentorship

  • An HR intern usually works under the supervision of the Human Resources management team and follows established HR policies, practices, and compliance standards.
  • Collect, understand, and verify employee or HR-related data and reports to support departmental initiatives and HR leadership.
  • Will receive professional coaching and guidance on HR systems, tools, and departmental assignments.
  • Develop and utilize spreadsheets, HR databases, and other applications to track employee information, recruitment data, or performance metrics.
  • Receive management support in preparing HR reports, correspondence, and documentation for special projects or daily operational needs.
  • Collaborate with and learn from HR professionals and senior leaders to gain practical exposure in various HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, and engagement.

Physical & Work Environment

This position is based in a professional office environment. The intern will work primarily at a desk using standard office equipment such as computers, monitors, and telephones. The role involves extended periods of sitting and working on a laptop or desktop computer, with exposure to typical office lighting and screen time. Occasional movement around the office and light lifting of files or office supplies (up to 10 lbs) may be required.
