Quantum Networking Fellow
As a Quantum Networking Fellow, you will have the opportunity to work as part of Nasdaq’s Quantum Technologies Initiative to advance applications of quantum technologies to finance. You will perform novel research to develop cutting-edge solutions to complex challenges in Financial Services and Technology (FinTech). We are seeking candidates who can proactively contribute ideas and carry out research in a collaborative setting. This position presents a rare chance to join a vibrant, young, and expanding team. Duration: Minimum of 6 months, full-time (20+ hours/week may be possible).
Note: This role is funded through December, 2027.
Location: Boston, Massachusetts, in-person or hybrid.
Responsibilities:
- Advance the application of quantum networking and related technologies within the financial services industry
- Develop quantum networking protocols for cutting-edge applications
- Collaborate with engineers and scientists to design and conduct PoCs, translating research into practical demonstrations
- Communicate with quantum technology partners
- Contribute to Nasdaq’s IP including publications and patents
- Provide expert technical assessment of current tech capabilities and limitations
- Communicate findings to non-technical audiences and share subject matter expertise with key decision-makers
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Master’s or PhD (completed or currently enrolled) in physics, engineering, computer science, math, or related fields
- Familiarity with quantum networking theory, protocols, or hardware
- Demonstrated ability to perform research, including independently proposing research directions and collaboratively guiding research projects
- Experience in technical scientific writing
- Strong communication skills including ability and desire to present to non-technical audiences
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong publication record in quantum networking, quantum photonics, quantum information, or related fields
- Proficiency in Python
- Experience with patent application
- Familiarity with finance not necessary, though candidates with finance or trading knowledge or experience could be given special considerationHow to Apply:
