Analytical Chemistry Intern

Advanced NanoTherapies Inc. is an exciting, fast paced, start-up company developing novel nanoparticle formulations and coatings for medical devices to treat vascular disease. We are looking for energetic self-starters to join our team as a summer co-op/intern. The position is hands-on and will offer experience in multiple aspects of an analytical lab and nanoparticle manufacturing. The ideal candidate has the ability to be productive in a fast-moving environment on a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers. 

ANT’s technology is based on drug-loaded biodegradable nanoparticles (NP) specifically designed to have higher vascular uptake and retention. 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform scientific research tasks to support the development and analysis of nanoparticle coatings, including drug loading, impurity profile, and release via analytical chemistry techniques.
  • Sample preparation and analysis using pre-determined methods.
  • Reagent and solution preparation using pre-determined methods. 
  • Assist with sample preparation for method optimization and validation studies.
  • Work with manufacturing and analytical teams to coordinate completion of QC testing and communication of results.
  • Assist in writing study reports and complete quality control documents that support formulation development and drug delivery efforts.
  • Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of laboratory and manufacturing equipment and supplies.
  • Opportunities to shadow/learn from nanoparticle synthesis, manufacturing, and product development teams.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, analytical chemistry, biochemistry, bio/chemical engineering, or related field.
    • For co-op/intern: currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree. 
  • Experience working in a laboratory setting.
  • Organization, attention to detail, and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Additional considerations given to candidates with experience with HPLC and/or LC-MS.
