Architectural Survey Intern

Reality Capture & BIM Internship

Summer 2026 - Full Time, 40 hours per week

Remote + National Travel (40-70% travel required)

 

The RCBIM Intern, or Architectural Survey Intern, works as part of the Reality Capture & BIM services team to accurately collect and document a wide range of field survey information. The RCBIM Intern will be responsible for traveling to Sevan's client locations, surveying the building to capture appropriate measurements and details. Following the field survey, the RCBIM Intern will be responsible for downloading the point cloud data and creating 2D and 3D as built renderings in AutoCAD and REVIT. 

You will use a variety of methodologies over the course of this experience, including manual and laser measurement tools and technologies, CAD drawings, BIM models, data applications, photography, and others as applicable. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with field data collection using LiDAR scanning equipment and basic survey tools (laser, tape, scanner, etc.).
  • Support the documentation of existing building conditions, including measurements and photographic records.
  • Assist with registering laser scan point clouds using company-approved software.
  • Help develop as-built and existing conditions drawings in AutoCAD (Revit exposure preferred).
  • Support the identification and documentation of building systems (electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing) as directed.
  • Revise drawings and deliverables based on redlines and team feedback.
  • Assist in preparing survey reports and project documentation.
  • Follow established procedures for documenting existing conditions and project standards.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and proper use of equipment at all times.
  • Complete administrative tasks such as timesheets and expense reports as required.
  • Ability to assist with physical tasks such as ladder setup to access roofs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications - Education, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelors or Masters Degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or related program.
  • Strong ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing.
  • Must be flexible, adaptable, and able to work with fluid schedules and working conditions given the travel and field requirements. 
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks at a time. 
  • Willing to dive in, proactively ask for new things you can help with, desire to learn and ambition to excel.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient working knowledge of AutoCAD, REVIT, as built drawings, or survey or scanning technologies, preferred.
