Speech Therapist
The Hyde Park Central School District is seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Speech Therapist for a full-time leave replacement position at F.D. Roosevelt High School beginning in January and ending with the school year (dates may change). This position falls under the HPTA bargaining unit.
The Speech Therapist will be responsible for providing comprehensive speech and language services to high school students, in accordance with New York State regulations and individualized education programs (IEPs).

Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough speech, language, and hearing screenings and diagnostic evaluations to identify communication disorders.
Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with communication impairments, in collaboration with students, parents, teachers, and other school personnel.
Provide direct speech and language therapy to students, individually or in small groups, addressing areas such as articulation, phonology, fluency, voice, receptive and expressive language, and social communication.
Monitor student progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and document all services provided and student outcomes.
Participate in CSE/CPSE meetings, annual reviews, and reevaluation processes.
Consult with teachers, parents, and other school staff to facilitate the generalization of communication skills across various settings.
Maintain accurate and confidential student records in compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines.
Collaborate with the school team to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Stay current with best practices and research in the field of speech-language pathology.
Qualifications:
Speech and Language Certification (New York State) is required.
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is preferred.
Experience working with high school-aged students is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of communication disorders and evidence-based intervention strategies.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
