Baltimore Green Justice Workers Cooperative (BGJWC) is seeking three undergrad or grad students for an unpaid, part-time Adult Literacy Internship with Baltimore Green Justice Workers Cooperative (BGJWC).  

Interns will assist BGJWC's Baltimore Green Jobs Academy staff in developing and implementing The North Avenue Learning Initiative/City of Abraham Church & Ministries. Duties include:  

(1) researching local, regional, national and international adult literacy programs and statistics; 

(2) creating flyers, surveys, posters, collages and other informational documents;

(3) assisting in the coordination of follow-up meetings (in-person and/or virtual) with instructors, volunteers and other adult literacy stakeholders; 

(4) tutoring adult learners in GED math, social studies, science and language arts;

(5) working with BGJWC staff and volunteers to develop presentations and outreach materials; 

(6) helping BGJWC fuse climate literacy as part of its adult education curriculum; and

(6) other duties as assigned.

This internship is hybrid.  The majority of work is done in-person, but some work can be don virtually.

NOTE:  If approved by their educational institutions, college students selected for this internship may receive program or course credit.  BGJWC encourages eligible applicants to speak with their college advisor and/or the career development office at their college to inquire about the opportunity to receive program or course credit.
