Research Experience for Undergraduates Summer 2026
What: We are recruiting two undergraduate students for a paid research internship this summer. Students will join a team of undergraduate and graduate student researchers studying alpine plants and pollinators. Students will contribute to the larger team’s research while also developing their own independent projects. No prior research experience is necessary.
When: 9 weeks from approximately June 6th – August 5th. Start and end dates are flexible based on student schedules.
Where: Students will stay at the CU Boulder Mountain Research Station, a field station located at 9500 ft elevation in the beautiful Rocky Mountains near Nederland, Colorado. Lodging will be provided in rustic cabins with access to bathroom, laundry, and kitchen facilities. The MRS is ~15 minutes from downtown Nederland, ~45 minutes from Boulder, and close to many hiking and other outdoor recreational opportunities.
Details: Students will receive free lodging for the duration of the internship, a $5000 stipend, and $1000 for travel and living expenses. Students must be willing and able to hike for several miles at high elevations and work outdoors under a variety of weather conditions.
